Neighborhood
Set apart from the tourist destinations on the south coast of Grande-Terre, Le Moule nonetheless has many attractions, both natural and cultural. Standing on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, in the middle of the island's east coast, the little town of Le Moule was once the biggest sugar harbour in Guadeloupe. Whilst the municipality has suffered from cyclones in the past, it is still very pretty with its eclectic, colourful town hall and its Church of St. John the Baptist, a listed Historic Monument with a neoclassical façade adorned with four ionic columns. Closer to the sea are the remains of an old cannon battery, which was once meant to defend the harbour, and the ruins of Wisosky, an old commercial building. Both these places are now great places to stroll around
