Description

Come and stay in this 18th century castle ideally located in the hamlet of Barres between Sainpuits and Etais-la-Sauvin. Built in 1777, the central body is flanked by a 19th century wing and an exceptional chapel with its trompe-l'oeil decorations.

This magnificent castle has been listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments since 1997. In addition, the building is surrounded by a French-style park of Achille Duchène and a vast 90-hectare park which will be ideal for peaceful walks.

The village of Sainpuits is located in Forterre on the borders of Yonne and Nièvre; a site that offers many possibilities for rural tourism near prestigious sites such as Saint Fargeau, Saint Sauveur (Colette), Ratilly, Boutissaint, Bourdon lake, Vézelay, the vineyards of Chablis and Sancerre and of course the prestigious medieval Château de Guédelon.

Take advantage of the calm and prestigious setting of the place to stay in this vast residence of more than 1000 m² which can accommodate 15 people with private heated swimming pool and tennis court.

The ground floor has an entrance hall, a large dining room, an equipped kitchen and a toilet.
Upstairs, you will have a library lounge, 9 bedrooms, two bathrooms and two shower rooms.

Outside, you can enjoy a magnificent terrace, the heated swimming pool, the tennis court, the barbecue for your grills, a ping-pong table and deckchairs. Without forgetting the large French-style park where you will not be disturbed by outside noise. Here everything is calm and peaceful!

Visitors can also benefit from fruits and vegetables from the organic kitchen garden, but also local wines available in the magnificent cellar of the outbuildings.

the castle also offers hot-air balloon flights in partnership with the company Eden Balloon, located in Treigny to fly over the magnificent foothills of the Morvan at sunset.
